Blockchain R&D Hub at Science and Technology Convergence Forum

Blockchain R&D Hub at Science and Technology Convergence Forum

Blockchain R&D Hub’s Technical Product Manager Vazgen Manukyan was a guest speaker at the Science and Technology Convergence Forum (STC) that took place in Yerevan, Armenia on October 12-13. The goal of STC is to stimulate and strengthen science and industry cooperation in the IT sector. The sessions at the forum allow the speakers and the audience to uncover the present state of scientific achievements and examine issues that are prevalent in the field. STC also allows to explore every possible means of cooperation between science and technology.

Parallel sessions took place with 6 areas to cover: Quantum Computing, Machine Learning, Microelectronics, Cybersecurity, Computer Vision and Renewable Energy. PUBLIQ’s Vazgen Manukyan’s presentation was not only informative, but entertaining as well. The guest speaker went on to bring real-life examples to help people have a better understanding of PUBLIQ, a P2P distributed network that shows a new perspective of approaching the media industry.

Since the audience comprised of mostly developers and programmers, Vazgen kicked off his presentation with an example of the time he went on a website to buy a product but ended up wasting 40 minutes trying to do it. Realizing that the website was having a JavaScript issue, he said he went on their Facebook page and commented that the product they’re selling is great but they have to fix the bug in order to buy it. The comment was quickly taken out of context and changed into promoting the product being sold. “These are the sort of problems PUBLIQ solves,” said Manukyan, “It brings a revolutionary experience to technology.”

STC’s Q&A session was also a comprehensive one, with the audience being more engaged in the platform’s potential avenues. One asked whether Stack Overflow can integrate into PUBLIQ, to which Manukyan assured that “yes, they can”. Since it is an open platform,  it is available for anyone to integrate without confirmation. If programmers spend time explaining a certain issue free of charge on Stack Overflow, they will have the chance to earn money through PBQs if they do it using the PUBLIQ platform.

The latter sparked another question; that is, can PBQs be mined and in what conditions. Manukyan ensured that PBQs are mineable depending on how much stake you can hold. As to who can become seeders and nodes, Vazgen states that anybody can.

The sessions at STC helped to share and exchange ideas on how science and technology can work together side by side to develop new projects and eliminate obstacles that impede the advancement of both fields. It was a pleasure for Blockchain R&D Hub to introduce their projects at STC.
